The Department of Nephro-urosciences is committed to providing cutting-edge medical and surgical care in all facets of adult and paediatric Nephro-urology. The Department of Urology treats benign disorders such as BPH, stone disease, incontinence, infertility, impotence, and all urogenital tumours, including kidney, ureter, bladder, and prostate, by screening, staging and using the most recent treatments available. A full range of facilities is available at the Department of Urology to offer complete services for managing urological problems.
The Department of Nephrology may house up to 50 patients under 24-hour care. The state-of-the-art Haemodialysis Unit can accommodate 14 patients at a time and has two machines dedicated to Hepatitis patients who require isolation and barrier nursing. It also has two machines for critically ill patients on Haemodialysis/Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), each with intensive monitoring systems. In the newly restructured department, a separate facility for Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) training of patients and workers has also been established. This alternate dialysis method helps over 100 patients. The department also offers peritoneal dialysis at the patient's bedside. In addition to daily OPDs and transplants, an outpatient maintenance haemodialysis service is given. Emergency haemodialysis is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Routine dialysis methods include Diafiltration, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Plasmapheresis, and Peritoneal Dialysis.
1. Urology & Andrology
All acute and chronic disorders affecting the genito-urinary system are managed by Urology & Andrology department. This includes functional clinical evaluations and diagnostic tests to correctly diagnose and treat all urinary disorders.
2. Nephrology
This division specialises in kidney transplants and dialysis assistance, as well as functional clinical evaluations and diagnostic procedures, and addresses all acute and chronic illnesses relating to the renal system or kidneys.
