Overview
Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre was established in 1987 by Ch. Aishi Ram Batra Public Charitable Trust with an infrastructure comprising 500 beds, 14 Operation Theatres, 110 ICU beds, 24x7 Emergency facilities, a full range of state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratories and comprehensive rehabilitation facilities.
Batra Hospital is the capital’s first multi-speciality private hospital of Delhi. Our aim has always been to bring world-class medical care within reach of the common man. Over the years, it has progressed, bringing in the latest and the most modern medical care in critical and life-threatening areas like Cancer, Cardiac, Orthopaedics, Nephrology and Neuro Surgery.
Today the hospital offers tertiary-level care in 42 specialities and has assembled the finest medical talent – Physicians, Surgeons, Nursing Professionals and Technicians. The skills of our Medical Professionals are enriched with international experience. This is in line with the continuing ethos of the hospital to combine the best medical care with warmth and tenderness, which is essential to the healing process.
Batra Hospital also provides proper in-campus accommodation facilities to our Consultants, DNB Doctors & Nursing Staff. They are made to feel at home, having all the basic amenities available.

Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre was set up under the aegis of Ch. Aishi Ram Batra Charitable Trust. This was an important landmark in the delivery of healthcare. It was inaugurated by late Shri Rajiv Gandhi on the 24th of April 1987, in the presence of other dignitaries.
Batra Hospital has been a pathbreaker in delivering quality and affordable healthcare to all sections of the society. It established the earliest centres of excellence in super-specialities like Oncology, Cardiology and Nephrology in private sector in city of Delhi. Subsequently other super-speciality departments were added, and these included Gastroenterology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Urology and Renal Transplantation. Hospital took great care in selecting eminent physicians in various departments, and complementing them with well trained nurses and technicians. The departments acquired state-of-the-art equipment. Under dynamic leadership, hospital made a name for itself and set a standard for other multi-super speciality hospitals.
Today, the hospital has grown into state-of-the-art hospital with 495 beds and offers tertiary level care in 42 specialities. It has an emergency facility which functions 24x7. Cardiac Emergency is separately designed, and there are three well equipped Emergency Ambulances available round the clock. Keeping in mind the modern requirements, the hospital has 112 Intensive Care Beds covering all specialities. There are 13 well equipped modern operation theatres.
Supportive services include laboratories and imaging facilities. Laboratories are provided with modern automated and standardized equipment focused on accuracy. Radiology equipment is constantly updated. A comprehensive rehabilitation facility supplements the efforts of the physicians. The finest talent runs these facilities, and physicians, nurses and technicians have a high degree of dedication, experience and skill in their respective areas.
Research and Education forms an important component of our activity. The hospital has participated in several multicenter trials and has sponsored in-house research projects funded from its own resources. It has achieved remarkable success in post-graduate training. There are 13 departments accredited to the National Board of Examination and at any given time there are about 85 trainees. Several staff members have been examiners for DNB and have been felicitated by the National Board.
Batra Hospital has a Residential Campus, which provides accommodation to the Consultants, the DNB trainees and nursing staff.
