Gastro Intestinal Surgery

Batra Gastro Sciences Centre is one of the few hospitals in the city which has a fully developed G I surgery unit. There is a large OT complex with 10 functional and fully equipped operation theatres. Availability of blood and blood products is no constraint. As a consequence a large number of extensive surgeries are being performed, be it Radical Esophagectomy (for Esophageal cancer), Whipples operation (For pancreatic cancer), Radical Colectomy (for colon cancer). Surgery for pancreatitis (Pancreatic necrosectomy), pseudocyt drainage are all being done, major liver resections & all G.I. Oncological surgical procedures are being routinely performed with significant less morbidity and mortality due to sound and strong academic background of the operating team.
