The department can accommodate upto 50 patients with round-the-clock supervision. The state-of-the-state Haemodialysis Unit for 14 patients at a time includes two machines designated for Hepatitis patients with isolation and barrier nursing. It also includes two machines for critically ill patients on Haemodialysis/Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) with intensive monitoring systems for each patient. A separate facility for Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) for training of patients and personnel has also been created in the present restructured department. Over 100 patients are supported on this alternative dialytic modality. There is a facility of audiovisual seminar room for interaction with all dialysis patients. The department also provides peritoneal dialysis at bedside. In addition to daily OPDs and transplant follow up service the maintenance haemodialysis on outpatient basis is provided. Emergency Haemodialysis is provided round the clock. The specialized modalities of dialysis i.e. Diafiltration, Haemofiltration, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Plasmapheresis and Peritoneal Dialysis are taken in routine.
Nearly 1000 haemodialysis with reverse osmosis water treatment per month are performed in a month in a friendly environment under supervision of medical and technical personnel. The present Department of Nephrology & Kidney Transplantation is located on the entire and exclusive 4th floor of the original block of hospital and is a marvel technical facility and devoted care under the supervision of eminent Nephrologists/Team.
Kidney Transplantation track record at Batra Hospital is the hallmark of regulated and highly successful facility in India. The team of two transplant surgeons with Nephrologist, Transplant Facilitator, highly trained transplant nurses with most upto date and ultra modern intensive care unit speaks of its quality of transplantation work. So far a total number of 525 transplants have been carried out in past. There has not been a single case of hyper acute rejection by the recipients or any significant complication in the donors.
Facilities Available: Diagnostic Facilities: Ultrasound guided Kidney Biopsy, complete diagnostic work up of kidney disease and kidney transplantation, and I house Tissue Typing Laboratory.
Therapeutic Facilities: Haemodialysis, Dialfiltration, Haemofiltration, Peritoneal Dialysis, CAPD, CRRT, Plasmapheresis, Transplant counseling, Kidney Transplantation and comprehensive medical and surgical treatment of renal diseases. |
