Taking care of children who require special medical attention has always been a priority at Batra Hospital. Equipped to undertake routine and complex paediatric medical cases round the clock, this department offers a variety of laboratory tests and imaging procedures supported by a medical team of experts in paediatric conditions. There is an exclusive paediatric ICU to attend to children suffering from acute and emergency illness like electric shocks, encephalopathies, meningitis and renal failure as well as cases of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Endocrinology and cardiology.

Neo Natal ICU
This ICU is a modern facility which provides specialized care for preterm babies and full term babies with complications. This neonatal Intensive Care unit is equipped with the most sophisticated equipments such as cardio respiratory monitors and apnea monitors required to treat and conduct advanced procedures, including administering surfactant therapy on even the smallest baby.

Paediatric Nephrology
A special section of the department deals with kidney and related disorders. It treats patients suffering for acute/chronic renal failure, fluid electrolyte disturbances, nephritic syndrome, UTI's bed wetting etc.

Paediatric Surgery
A specialty of the department of paediatrics is the superior handling of surgical pathology in children, new born and even pre-term babies. This department handles cases of congenital abnormalities, oesophageal fistulas, diaphragmatic hernias, neuro surgical and other ailments.
In addition the hospital runs a busy out patient department for general paediatrics and specialty clinics like gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonology, and endocrinology and paediatric orthopaedics. Special high0risk follow up clinics and immunization clinics are also being catered to.
All the high risk new born are being screened regularly for hearing by O.A.E tests
Preterm babies with R.O.P are being also looked after here successfully with very good results with laser surgery.

A new programmed along with the ENT department has been started for identifying children with hearing loss and also providing chochlear Implant surgery in our hospital.

Equipment available in department:
Ventilators, Cardiac monitors, overhead warmers, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, SPO2 monitoring etc.

Therapeutic facilities:
Treatment of all paediatric consultations including Neonatalogy - preterm, surfactant therapy, ventilation and all Paediatrics surgeries

Paediatrics:
All conditions dealt with including-Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Cardiology. Paediatric surgery facilities available for all problems including all urology and Neurology cases.

Paediatrics department caters to the age group from Newborns to 14 yrs of age. Infact the paediatrics department also deals with antenatal complications and advice for the to be born neonates along with the obstetricians, so that the proper management is given to the high risk neonate.

Apart from running a busy outpatient department for General Paediatrics, the hospital also runs speciality clinics like Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology and paediatrics orthopaedics. Special HIGH RISK follow up clinics and immunizations clinics are also being catered to.

Indoor facilities are available 24 hours with a paediatrician on call around the clock.

Specialized care for preterm babies with their problems, full term babies with complications etc are managed in our Neonatal Intensive care unit. The Neonatal Intensive care unit is equipped with the best equipment required to treat even the smallest baby including administering surfactant therapy.

For the older patients the Paediatric Intensive care unit facilities are available which handle not only Paediatric Medical problems but also handle Paediatric Surgical, Neuro-surgery, Orthopaediac complications.

The whole team works together in a good coordinated manner for the best care for our Paediatric patients.
