- The department of cardiology has 9 senior consultants, 3 junior consultants, and 14 post graduates.
- The department has an active DNB training programme, as well as a DNB interventional cardiology fellowship programme.
- Two of eight senior interventional cardiologists, all junior consultants and all postgraduates reside inside the campus.
- The department runs dedicated 24-hour cardiac emergency service for rapid evaluation and management of cardiac emergency cases, and has 24 hours catheterization facilities, which has given it the largest Indian experience with primary angioplasty.
- It has fully equipped cardiac ambulance for transfer of critical cases.
- The department has 2 coronary care units with 20 fully equipped coronary care beds, and 3 cardiac wards containing 50 beds for step down care.
- There are 3 color Doppler labs, 2 treadmills, a radio nuclide SPECT laboratory for thallium and sistamibi imaging, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and loop recording for long term monitoring of arrhythmias.
- The department has a separate vascular Doppler laboratory, which is run by a full time vascular Doppler specialist.
- There are 3 cardiac catheterization laboratories with state of art flat panel technology, which minimizes radiation and enhances image quality. The catheterization laboratories have 32 channel intracardiac electrocariography recorders for arrhythmia mapping and radio frequency ablation.
- It has Carto electrical mapping equipment for complex ablation.
- The catheterization laboratories are equipped for device closure of congenial defects, pacemaker implantation including biventricular pacing, defibrillator, implants and implantation of combo devices.
- An active academic programme, a long established, active cardiac surgery programme and the setting of a multi specialty hospital with medical intensive care, chest specialists, nephrologists, neurologist and all ancillary services gives us the ability to offer cardiac care to all cardiac patients including those with very complex clinic problems.
